The arrival of help

The Turks could now move their ships to Marsamxett. Thus, they could move armaments to the high grounds of Kordin, Santa Margherita and Tas-Salvatur. The Knights also moved troops from Mdina to the harbour.

On the 5th of July, the sea finally brought some hope, when a squadron of four galleys carrying around 700 people arrived from Sicily, led by Don Melchior de Robles. After a few days, they managed to enter Birgu, angering the Turks.
