"Youth and the Oceans - The Artworks Competition" is a local painting competition for children and youngsters under the age of 16. Individuals from Primary and Secondary Schools have created paintings and drawings which fall under seven different themes related to the sea. Age 5 to 10 Category: 1st Prize - Tara Camilleri, Xemxija with “Pollution vs Clean Ocean” 2nd Prize – Amy Grech, Rabat with “Fishland” Best Artistic Presentation – Alain Mifsud Zelbst, Balzan with “Under the Sea” Originality – Corinne Micallef-Grimaud, Birguma with “Mysterious Water” Promising Talent – Darren Sammut, Gzira with “Underwater Life”. For Ages 11 to 15 Category : 1st Prize – Camille Felice, Balzan with “Listen to the Sea” 2nd Prize – Sarah Micallef, San Gwann with “A Forgotten Unpolluted World” Best Artistic Presentation – Jasmine Fenech, Mtarfa with “Into the Deep”, Cecilia Zammit Endrich, Tal-Virtu with “In the Shadows”, Janice Tanti, Rabat with “Mysteries of the Sea”, Sarah Mercieca, Madliena with “Fish in the Sea”, Manuel M. Bonnici, Sannat, Gozo with “Marine Life” Originality – Lisa Zammit Endrich, Rabat with “Fish Frenzy” Promising Talent - Mark Zammit Cutajar, Mellieha with “Marine Life” The results of this competition were determined 50% through online voting and 50% by a professional Selection Panel.
